“I have worked in the manufacturing industry for over 25 years and have endeavored to bring previously outsourced manufacturing jobs back to the United States by promoting manufacturing as a viable career path. Through these efforts, I have had the pleasure to work closely with TSTC. The College takes pride in its ability to be the conduit between the student and employer. TSTC expertly assesses the needs of employers currently in the marketplace and aligns the teaching curriculum to ensure the utmost success for their students. We have hired many TSTC graduates and will continue to support TSTC as our partner and resource in hiring.”

Crown Lift Trucks Logo

Crown Equipment Corporation is the world’s largest manufacturer of electric industrial forklift trucks. Crown has 70 locations in the United States and employs more than 15,000 people worldwide.

“The reason Crown Lift Trucks will always make TSTC a priority is the return on investment we can expect in a valuable employee. By employee, we mean the professional graduates that TSTC produces. It’s the knowledge and charisma the instructors bring to the table that sparks the drive within the students. The support of the Career Services in putting the best interest of every student first – from résumé review, mock interview practice, soft skills training, and employer interactions – continues to give the students an edge up on the competition. Every TSTC graduate we have brought on board has excelled and set the bar high for all new hires. The instructors exercise theory, book work, and lab time; but, more than anything, they lead by example! We value the partnership with TSTC and all that it has to offer! ”

Gerdau-432

Gerdau North America’s steel mill in Midlothian employs over 1,000 full-time employees. Gerdau is an industry leader for long steel products throughout the Americas.

“The United States is in the early stages of what is set to become a skilled trades crisis. The average age of skilled tradesmen in the U.S. today is greater than 50. Beginning in 2015, Gerdau Midlothian partnered with TSTC’s North Texas campus in Red Oak to develop an employee apprenticeship program for skilled tradesmen. With humble beginnings of only about 10 employees, we now have more than 35 employees who are enrolled and participating in TSTC’s two-year program in Industrial Maintenance. These individuals are learning the hands-on skills and theoretical knowledge to transform them into the millwrights and electricians of the future, thereby helping us bridge the skilled trades gap. TSTC’s industry-relevant facilities, excellent faculty, and willingness to work with industry partners sets them apart from your typical 'community college.' Recently, Gerdau Midlothian sponsored a scholarship grant with TSTC so that the College may better recruit and attract youth from our community into these critical programs and jobs.”
