ELPT 1341 Motor Controls:  Operating principles of solid-state and conventional controls along with their practical applications. Includes braking, jogging, plugging, safety interlocks, wiring, and schematic diagram interpretations.

ELPT 1351- Electrical Machines:  Direct current (DC) motors, single phase and poly phase alternating current (AC) motors, generators, and alternators.  Emphasis on construction, characteristics, efficiencies, starting, and speed control.

INTC 1343- Application of Industrial Automatic Controls:  Automatic process control including measuring devices, analog and digital instrumentation, signal transmitters, recorders, alarms, controllers, control valves, and process and instrument diagrams. Responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of industrial weighing equipment using electronic test equipment such as multimeter, Strain Gage Simulator, and Load Cell Simulator.  Responsibilities include using on board diagnostic systems to calibrate and diagnose complex bagging and batching systems.  Strong understanding of industrial systems and processes,  Programmable Logic Controllers, Power Distribution Systems and  AC and DC Motor controls. Strong knowledge of ISO and Department of Agriculture requirements.
